Midwest Monster Fest Holding Cool Charity Auction This Weekend!
Davenport Police Association Sponsoring A Toy Drive
The Davenport Police Association is sponsoring the Family Resources Inc. Christmas Toy Drive on Saturday, December 12th (10am to 6pm) and Sunday, December 13th (10am to 5pm). Come visit us at Northpark Mall, 320 W Kimberly Rd by Firestone!
This annual event raises money and collects new toys at Christmas for children involved in Family Resources Domestic Violence Shelters, Child Advocate programs (victims of sex assaults and other at risk programs), and supports the Family Resources Adopt a Family Program. Please consider supporting this great cause!
Started in 2002 after Family Resources Offices were burglarized right before Christmas, and toys and funds were stolen. This Annual event has benefited and put many smiles on children’s faces at Christmas Time.
Interested In Wild Edibles?
Join Naturalist Becky Baugh from the Wapsi River Center on Tuesday, December 8th at 1:00 pm to learn about many wild edibles in your neck of the woods. We will focus on foraging basics, foraging safety, identifying plants, and preparing wild edibles. You will learn about five wild edibles available this season.

Celebrate Second Saturday In Downtown Davenport
Each Second Saturday of the month, the Downtown Davenport Partnership is helping to organize collaborative events across downtown.
From curbside concerts, to sidewalk sales and special activities – DDP works with businesses to offer specials, partnerships with downtown neighbors, and helps to create a fun atmosphere for Quad Citizens and visitors to shop local!

🎵 It’s time to get in the holiday spirit! Enjoy some live curbside caroling by our friends at River Music Experience. They’ll be performing throughout the downtown from 1 – 3 p.m.
🎄 Go on a walk and discover the painted window displays!
📸 Snap a photo in front of the display, tag us at Downtown Davenport, Iowa on Facebook and Instagram. For each display you post a photo for, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $100 Keep It QC gift card! Winner announced on Friday, December 18!

Learn About Health Practices At Davenport Library
Join us for a discussion on safe medication practices on Monday, December 7th at 1:00 pm. Learn about the importance of following the directions for both prescription and over-the-counter medications. We will talk about disposing of medications safely, storing medicines properly, keeping track of medications, and avoiding the misuse of medication. Information will also be provided on what questions you should ask your doctor, pharmacist, and insurance providers.

Next weekend, Mississippi Marketplace is proud to present the Christmas Comic, Toy, and Hobby Show!
They are welcoming vendors from all around to give you guests that special piece you have been looking for along with a large variety of items you didn’t even realize you needed!
This will be a great two day event Saturday 10am – 5pm Sunday 11am – 5pm.

Winter Nights, Winter Lights Lights Up The Botanical Center
Winter Nights Winter Lights is lighting up the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island!
From now to Jan. 10, every night from 4 to 9 p.m. the outdoor gardens will be in winter bloom with over 130,000 glowing lights. Showcasing our largest light display yet, new areas of our outdoor gardens will be lit, including the Children’s Garden.

Valor & Victory Gardens: WWII in the Hawkeye State

WWII was a global conflict that forever altered society and touched the lives of people around the world, including right here in Iowa. The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. With this exhibit we remember and commemorate that momentous occasion. Through local headlines, personal letters, and historic artifacts, we will tell the Quad Cities’ WWII story.
This exhibit is supported by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and was co-curated by GAHC Staff and Arthur Pitz, Ph.D.
The exhibit will be open from September 13 – January 17 and is included with general admission:
