Martin Luther King Jr. Center Holding Children’s Holiday Gift Day

Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!If you’re a family in need this holiday season — and there are more people this year than ever who are challenged to get by — then the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, 630 9th St., Rock Island, is holding a Children’s Holiday Gift Day.

The Center says, “While we can’t hold our usual Children’s Holiday Party this year, we will still provide wrapped gifts for children ages 3-12.

We are grateful to Moline Foundation, Royal Neighbors of America, Modern Woodmen of America, UnityPoint Health, PetSmart Moline, Thy Loving Kindness Ministries, Spring Forward, River Bend Food Bank, Operation Home Front, and House of Bliss Wellness Spa for generously supporting this event!”

Maddie Poppe is bringing a great holiday concert and tunes to get you in the Christmas mood to the Adler Theater in Davenport!

American Idol winner and Iowa native Maddie Poppe is coming to the Adler Theatre in Davenport at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Tickets are on sale now!

The Adler Theatre is taking the necessary precautions to create a safe environment as we prepare to welcome guests back to the venue. Get the latest health and safety updates here.

See The Holiday Lights At Fejervary

Join us for seasonal holiday lights display at Fejervary Learning Center! We were so ‘Happy’ with last year’s display that we simply ‘Can’t Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!Stop the Feeling’ and will be bringing it back with even more lights this year! Shows last approximately 15 minutes with a new show starting every 30 minutes beginning at 5 PM; the last show starts at 9:30 PM.
Stop by for Throw-back Thursday when we rewind to our 2019 show (occurring every Thursday through the duration of the show). This is a park and watch event, not a drive or walk-through event.
Location: Fejervary Learning Center, 1800 W. 12th St, Davenport, IA
Dates: 11/28/20–1/3/21
Times: 5-9:30 PM (last show begins at 9:30 PM)
Directions: Enter on W. 12th St and follow the directional signs. Attendees may park at the listed locations. Accessible parking is labeled and located directly across from the learning center. Exit by following the loop around the west side of the learning center.
Radio broadcast: Turn your radio to FM 107.5 to sync with the holiday lights music broadcast.
Warning: This show may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.

Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!Airwaves Riding Into Gypsy Highway

Please welcome for their first appearance at Gypsy Highway, 2606 W. Locust St., Davenport, the 7 piece band from Cedar Rapids, Airwaves, at 7 p.m. Friday!
They were highly recommended to book for a show by several customers in the venue. This should be fun!
Airwaves was first formed in December 2011 and remains Eastern Iowa’s Premiere Classic Rock Cover Band. They have performed at many of the popular venues in Eastern Iowa including Marion by Moonlight, Balloon Glow, Robins
Roundup, Uptown Getdown, Freedom Festival, Fairfax USA Days, Hawkeye Downs and Ragbrai and are regular
performers at the Cedar Ridge Winery in Cedar Rapids and Millstream Brewing in the Amanas.
They play the classics including tunes that you won’t often hear from other bands. Covering the greatest music ever recorded from the 70’s,
80’s, 90’s and more – that’s Airwaves!
There’s a $5 cover for the show.

Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!Virtual Handmade Cards Craft Day Coming Up At Figge

Figge Museum is holding a holiday craft day at 6 p.m. Thursday!
Create original hand-crafted cards that are nice enough to frame as a small piece of art. Learn several ways to create greeting cards using scraps of colorful paper and/or fabrics and finish with unique embellishments. No previous experience needed – this is a fun, quick class that should inspire you to make several cards and small works of your creativity!
This class will take place on Zoom. The invite for the class will be sent out after registration.

Make Your Own Gingerbread House!

HyVee is hosting a virtual cooking event where you can make your own gingerbread house, at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

We will be making Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses, Banana Santas, and Hot Chocolate Stocking Stuffers!

For the Graham Cracker Gingerbread Houses: -Honey Maid Graham Crackers – 5 per house -4 cups powdered or confectioners sugar -5 Tbsp warm water -3 Tbsp meringue powder -Paper plate or cardboard -Bread knife or serrated knife -Disposable piping bag, or Ziplock bag with a corner cut off -Assorted candy, pretzels, dried fruit, etc, for decorating -Electric mixer -Large bowl For the Banana Santas: -Toothpicks -1 banana -3 strawberries -Mini marshmallows (3) -Marshmallows -Chocolate sprinkles OR chocolate chips For the Hot Chocolate Stocking Stuffers: -1 Mason Jar -1 package of instant hot chocolate mix -Mini chocolate chips -Andes Peppermint Crunch -Mini marshmallows -Holiday Sprinkles

Winter Nights, Winter Lights Lights Up The Botanical Center

Winter Nights Winter Lights is lighting up the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island!

Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!From now to Jan. 10, every night from 4 to 9 p.m. the outdoor gardens will be in winter bloom with over 130,000 glowing lights. Showcasing our largest light display yet, new areas of our outdoor gardens will be lit, including the Children’s Garden.

Explore the lawns, pond and pocket gardens of our outdoor light exhibit.
Open Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and the night of New Year’s Day. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
A small processing fee will be added to all tickets.
All events have limited capacity and are subject to change based on state mandates governing public health.

Christmas Activities Abound In The Quad-Cities In This Week's FUN10!Valor & Victory Gardens: WWII in the Hawkeye State

When: Now and through Jan 17
Where: German American Heritage Center & Museum (712 W 2nd St. Davenport)

WWII was a global conflict that forever altered society and touched the lives of people around the world, including right here in Iowa. The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII. With this exhibit we remember and commemorate that momentous occasion. Through local headlines, personal letters, and historic artifacts, we will tell the Quad Cities’ WWII story.

This exhibit is supported by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and was co-curated by GAHC Staff and Arthur Pitz, Ph.D.

The exhibit will be open from September 13 – January 17 and is included with general admission:
Adult: $5 | Senior: $4 | Child: $3 | Member: Free.
