Families Invited To ‘Paint The Lot’ At Family Museum

Families of all artistic abilities are invited to “Paint the Lot” at the Family Museum on Saturday, October 3. The event will run 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. Cost is $50 per parking spot and participants must be registered prior to event. All proceeds will go to the Family Museum Foundation.

Families Invited To 'Paint The Lot' At Family MuseumThe Museum held its first Paint the Lot event in 2017 as a fundraiser for its 20th anniversary. Families painted original designs that have withstood many Iowa winters and summers. The Museum staff decided to bring back the event since it lends itself well to social distancing – the event is outside and the spots are spaced far apart.

The Museum will provide some supplies, but families are encouraged to bring their own paint if they have a specific design in mind. Interior house paint works well; oil-based paint is not allowed. Anyone interested in registering is invited to visit familymuseum.org/paint or call (563) 344-4106.

The Family Museum is a department of the City of Bettendorf, Iowa, and has been a community resource for over 20 years. The Museum offers a unique, hands-on, learning experience that is designed primarily for children eight and under. Kids and their caregivers can engage in play-based exhibits, day programs, dance classes, and other enriching activities guided by the knowledgeable Museum staff. Hours are Monday – Thursday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm; Friday – Saturday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; closed Sunday. Admission is $9 per guest with various discounts for seniors, military, etc.
