EveryChild Seeks Nominations for Champions for Every Child Award
Moline, Illinois—EveryChild, the nonprofit formerly known as the Child Abuse Council, is now accepting nominations for its Champions for Every Child award. This award is given each year to an individual, a business or nonprofit, and/or a young adult 18 or under to celebrate the community leaders who dedicate their time, expertise, or donations to ensuring a safe, healthy childhood for all.
“Childhood well-being is a community issue,” said Mark Mathews, EveryChild’s Executive Director. “These local heroes too often go unsung. It’s our honor to lift up their example with the Champions for Every Child recognition and shine a spotlight on the work they’re doing to give every child a safe, healthy childhood.”
Between now and March 20th, anyone in the community can nominate any person or organization they feel represents EveryChild’s mission, vision, and values. A panel made up of two staff members, two board members, and two previous award winners will review nominations and recommend recipients to the executive director and board chairperson.
In 2022, EveryChild honored recipients in all three categories. Ann Schwickerath was the individual Champion for Every Child award winner with her work and efforts to provide kids with a safe, stable, positive space through Project Renewal. The Forbidden Dragons Motorcycle Club was the organization winner; honoring their efforts to support area non-profits who work to keep kids safe. The 18 and under award went to Corynn Holmes; shining a spotlight on her incredible efforts to provide opportunities for underrepresented kids to have their voices heard.
Recipients of this year’s Champions for Every Child recognition will be honored at the organization’s Celebrate Every Child gala on Thursday, April 27, at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.
