Walcott Days Offers Family Fun This Weekend
Ice cream socials, parades and apple pie contests? Oh my! It must be time for Walcott Day!
Walcott Day is upon us, and this year’s theme is SuperHeroes for a SuperTown! Most activities will take place Victory Park, 202 East Otis Street in Walcott.
Here is a full list of activities for the weekend:
Friday July 14
6-7:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social at Courtyard Estates (Proceeds go to Girl/Cub Scouts)
Pulled Pork Dinner at Courtyard Estates (Proceeds go to Splash Pad)
7:30-8:30 p.m. Kid’s Run- ¼ Mile for ages 6 and under, ½ Mile for ages 7-12 at Prairie View Park
Dusk Fireworks (at Prairie View Park, behind Casey’s on North Main Street)
Saturday July 15
7-9 a.m. The Walcott Day 5K Run/Walk (Starts at Legion)
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Car Show at Victory Park (Awards begin at 3 p.m.)
10:30 a.m. Parade (Ronald McDonald will be socializing after the parade)
12:15 p.m. Horse Shoe Pitching Contest
11:30 a.m. Apple Pie Contest (Auction beings at approximately 2:30 p.m.)
12:15 p.m. Bags Tournament (registration at 11 a.m.)
Noon Flag Raising Ceremony
Afternoon Tractor Show
12:15-5 p.m. Bounce House, Big Slide and Kiddy Playground
Blasting Bubbles
1-4 p.m. Bingo
1-5 p.m. Pedal Tractor Pull (Registration at Pull Area 12-15-12:45 p.m.)
1-5 p.m. Human Foosball (6 Per Team)
2-5 p.m. Entertainment by Buddy Olson
2-4 p.m. Kids’ Water Fights
4:30-8 p.m. Evening Meal
6 p.m. Evening Ceremony and Crowning of Walcott Day Queen and Princess
Prize Drawing
7:30-11 p.m. Dance to “Remedy”
