Unimpaired Fun Just Got Easier in the Quad Cities

Looking for a fun-filled night out with friends, without all the headache (literally)?Unimpaired Fun Just Got Easier in the Quad Cities

It’s no secret that when most people imagine a night out, whether to meet new people or catch up with old friends, drinks are usually involved. You know, a little ‘liquid courage’ to break the ice, some mixed drinks to ‘further the fun’. But what if you could enjoy those recreational and stress-reducing evenings WITHOUT the forgotten conversations, bad judgment calls and rough mornings?

Unimpaired (UIP), the newest establishment to call the Quad Cities home, will celebrate their opening this Tuesday Sep 1 at 11 a.m. at 246 W 3rd Street Davenport. This will be the first dry bar in Iowa and will provide locals with a place to go for socialization and fun, without alcohol. A place to go where you can be yourself, have fun, enjoy entertainment, meet new people, all without the fuzzy nights and painful next days.

Here is the statement that was released on Unimpaired’s Facebook page:

“Unimpaired, LLC is proud to announce Iowa’s first and only non-alcoholic bar to be known as Unimpaired located at 246 W. 3rd Street in the heart of downtown Davenport, Iowa.

Discover a new way to socialize! Our mission is to provide excellent customer service with the highest standards of integrity. An environment where patrons can enjoy a non-alcoholic drink, relax, and socialize in a space where fun times aren’t foggy and make memories to remember forever. Unimpaired is where locals and visitors can come to tap into a non-alcoholic environment and experience all the amenities of a bar with unique spirits and to create artisanal cocktails.

The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration of Unimpaired Dry Bar on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at their location of 246 W 3rd Street in downtown Davenport.

Operational Co-Founder, Amber Haines states “We are giving people a healthier solution, helping them achieve the same sense of belonging that alcohol promises. This is one of the reasons so many people get stuck in the “drunk rut” in the first place, wanting a sense of community after work or during happy hour. Camaraderie and a sense of belonging in a booze free environment creates a sense of belonging and strength in numbers, whether it’s at a sober bar or an Instagram page. What we have created here is an environment, one in which alcohol isn’t involved. That’s the only difference from any other place. I personally don’t drink, I’m not in recovery, I just prefer not to do it. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to go out and dance, sing, karaoke, play trivia, pool, be social. I don’t believe that alcohol HAS to be involved for one to be social.” Unimpaired will serve an extensive selection of unique non-alcoholic cocktails as well as all your favorites using alcoholic substitutes. We will also have an array of pizza and salads to choose from.

Amber’s partner in Unimpaired, Jim Thomson, local businessman who is also invested in local startups Minute Suites, TapOnIt, Landjet and QC Fuel. Jim says, “I was aware of Amber’s success in running her bar in Blue Grass, and when she approached me about starting UnImPaired, I was quick to jump on board. Her experience, energy and willingness to work hard along with this business idea was too good to pass on. This has been substantiated by the 6,700 followers we already have on Facebook.”

In regards to COVID-19, it was not a part of our original plan and we’ll roll with the punches as they say. We will be following OSHA’s guidelines closely. “To assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women; by authorizing enforcement of the standard developed under the OSHA Act of 1970; by assisting and encouraging our State in their efforts to assure safe and healthful working conditions; by providing research, information, education, and training in the field of occupational safety and health.”
