The Land Before Time Hits the GIANT Screen with Sensory-Friendly Accommodations
Unearth the excitement of EVERYTHING your children love about dinosaurs in a sensory-friendly setting!
Enjoy “The Land Before Time” at the Putnam Museum (1717 W 12th Street Davenport), this Sunday Aug 11 at 4 p.m. on the GIANT Screen!
Stick around after the movie (5 – 6 p.m.) for a variety of dino-themed activities, modified to accommodate those with special needs. Guests will also be able to meet and interact with a friendly baby triceratops puppet!
What is a sensory friendly movie? It’s a movie modified to be “friendlier” to the senses. Changes to the environment and film experience include dimmed but not turned off theater lights, lower volume, 2D movies and little to no trailers before the showing.
Guests of all ages have the freedom to move around and make noise during the show, as well as bring in outside food and drink to suit their dietary needs! A designated chill-out zone is also available outside of the fully accessible GIANT Screen Theater.
Tickets are $10 per person and are available at http://putnam.org/Movies/Featured/Sensory-Friendly-Films. Tickets include movie showing and sensory-friendly activities afterwards.
Sensory-friendly screenings of documentaries in the GIANT Screen Theater are offered every second Sunday of the month. Stay tuned for the September movie!
