Q-Cs Zealots Help Make America Rock Again At iWireless Center
The iWireless Center hosts countless local events and brings to us the latest and the greatest legends in music on a regular basis. The Make America Rock Again rockfest came through Sept. 10 and I was lucky enough to attend this amazing display of current rock and roll bands.
Trapt, Saliva, Drowning Pool, Alien Ant Farm, Tantric, The Zealots, and Saving Abel all completely rocked the auditorium with greatness that I had never experienced in my life.
The place was packed with rockers young and old. The air was filled with excitement with every boom of the bass that pounded fiercely throughout the building. I even saw a few kids that must have been in junior high just rocking away with their parents. I was filled with an extreme happiness to see this connection between parents and children in this occasion of rock history. It’s such a joy to see families rocking out together.
Music is the universal language and these bands members all speak it fluently. My favorite had to be the ever loving music appreciating and crowd engaging lead singer of Saving Abel, Scott Austin. It seems this man still has the original love for music that he had when he started this. He really knew how to pull the people in and make them feel his love. I was equally impressed as Jason Moreno of Drowning Pool seemed to have the same feeling and power over the crowd.
They were going wild!
Micah Martin, the voice of The Zealots, was throwing t-shirts and inviting all to like their Facebook as they were proud to be performing at their beloved home. Hailing from Bettendorf, they were just as epic and memorable on that stage as the great names they shared it with. With Ryan Housenga raging heavily on his guitar and Adam Housenga beating fiercely upon the drums, they stood their ground as rock stars. Local talent is always appreciated and if you are interested in finding out more about this band, you can find them on https://www.facebook.com/TheZealots/.
The most honored moment in the whole evening was when the crowd grew silent as soldiers took the stage with an American Flag and the greatest jam of all swept out of a guitar and into our hearts. We all stood and saluted our National Anthem and it was an unforgettable moment for all of us. Thank you for bringing this show to the Q-C, iWireless. And for everything else you do. You rock!
