Pour Up Some Great Conversation With Pub Theology
This week, you can pour yourself up some heady conversation with some hoppy beverages with Pub Theology.
Grab a coffee or a beer and head to Cool Beanz Coffeehouse on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 8:00 p.m. for their monthly Pub Theology gathering. This month, the Pub Theology will discuss what is great and what is awful about Christmas.
Pub Theology is a group that has been established since 2014. The purpose of this group is to meet and discuss in a respectful and open manner about God, faith, wonder, and doubt. These topics are chosen by Robb McCoy. You can contact Cool Beanz at (309) 558-0909.
Cool Beanz Coffeehouse is located at 1325 30th St. Rock Island. It opened on Aug. 24, 2009 and is open from 7:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. on the weekends. It is owned and managed by Augustana Alumni Annette Zapolis. Cool Beanz is known for serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and coffee. It also holds an Open Mic night every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. as well as holding other musical or poetic events as scheduled five days a week.
Cool Beanz is known for hosting artists throughout the United States for performances, and to have both Augustana and BlackHawk students filling its lounge. Many escape the cold during Rock Island’s winters in front of the three-sided fireplace with some sort of brew in their hands. Be sure to stop by and check it out.
