Music Guild Holding Auditions For Youth Chorus
The Quad-City Music Guild Youth Chorus will hold auditions Sunday January 7th from 1:00-3:00pm and Monday January 8th from 4:30-5:30pm at the Prospect Park Music Guild Theater, 1584-34th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265.
Auditions are open for all 3rd through 8th graders (2017-2018 school year). Please bring sheet music for an age-appropriate song (1 minute or less). In addition, there will also be a short tonal memory and rhythm reading exercise.
Quad-City Music Guild is pleased to continue the youth chorus concert series and adding the programs to its regular schedule of events at the theater. The chorus was created with the goal of bringing new young people and their families into Quad City Music Guild. With the chorus in place, the Guild is providing an opportunity for the youth to become familiar with Broadway style music, learn about our theater, and provide an opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.
It is our hope those involved will see Music Guild as an avenue to assist in the development of their talents, learn to sing within a quality vocal group, and provide an experience that is both rewarding and demonstrates the benefits of participating as a volunteer within their community.
Rehearsals for those chosen to sing with the chorus will be on Mondays from 4:30-6:00pm in the QCMG lobby beginning January 22, 2018. A $50 membership fee will offset the cost of music and the performance shirt, due at the first rehearsal. If you have questions, please email qcmgyouthchorus@gmail.com.
