Moonlight Festival Lights Up Downtown Silvis

The 18th Annual Moonlight Festival in Silvis is officially upon us! The theme this year is ‘Grand Prix’ so zoom on into this festival for a great time!

On Saturday Aug 24, downtown Silvis will be transformed into a block party like none other. There will be crafts, a cruise-in, free activities for kids, live music, the only lighted parade in the Quad Cities and more!Moonlight Festival Lights Up Downtown Silvis

The festivities kick off at 8 a.m. with the Silvis Family 5K Run and the ½ mile Kiddie Run. To register for the run, that begins at Schadt Park in Silvis, go to https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=131546.

 

Join the Silvis community for some of these fun activities:

Car Show (Behind Frank’s Pizzeria)          2 – 6 p.m.

Kids Zone (Dunk Tank)                                4 – 7 p.m.

Teen Zone (Basketball)                               4 – 7 p.m.

Craft Vendors                                               4 – 7 p.m.

Food Vendors                                               4 – ??

Remote Control Car Race                           4 – 7 p.m.

 

Come see Ekim’s Karate performance at 6 p.m., meet the “Hometown Hero” at 6:45 p.m. and the crowning of Miss Zinnia Princess at 7 p.m.

The magnificent Moonlight Parade will begin at dusk (around 8:15 p.m.) with the theme of ‘Grand Prix’. You do not want to miss this amazing display of lighted floats.

For a day full of wholesome family fun and lifelong memories, head down to Silvis for this year’s Moonlight Festival, this Saturday!
