Lots Of Treats In Store At Local Halloween Events
There are going to be plenty of treats, tricks, scares and surprises during this year’s Halloween season in the Quad-Cities, and here are some of the events you can check out.
Fright Night takes place beginning at 5 p.m. in the District in downtown Rock Island, featuring music, fun activities for kids, crafts and arts, lots of free candy, a costume contest, DJ Jeff James and more. It’s all free and all fun down in the District.
Also down in the District at Skellington Manor, 420 18th St., Rock Island, their hellishly fun triple-decker haunted house The Asylum is going to be wrapping things up this weekend, so go check it out for some haunts, laughs and shocks before it rolls out Nov. 1.
On a little more gentle note, HyVees around the Quad-Cities are holding their Halloween festivities starting at 6 p.m. Thursday. They have costume contests, arts and crafts and give away free candy and treats.
Libraries around the area are also having a bunch of fun activities for Halloween. Silvis Public Library is holding a Halloween party at 6 p.m. Thursday, Rock Island Public Library is having its Halloween party for kids at 11 a.m. Thursday, and also Thursday, Moline Public Library is having its annual preschool party from 10-11 am.
Scott Community College in Bettendorf is offering its pumpkin carving contest at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Noche De Los Muertos Halloween festivities kick off at 5 p.m. Friday at Mercado on Fifth in downtown Moline. And Downtown East Moline is having a Halloween party and zombie walk starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday, ICONS martini bar down in the District in Rock Island is having its Halloween party and costume bash at 6 p.m. Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley hosts Boo at the Zoo during zoo hours and the Freight House Farmers Market in downtown Davenport kicks off its Halloween festivities at 11 a.m. with a parade starting at noon.
As for Halloween Day on Monday, and on Sunday, the Day of the Dead Fiesta starts at noon at the Figge in downtown Davenport, Art of the Undead is a two-day exhibit Sunday and Monday at the Star Dog Gallery in downtown Davenport and Factory of Fear in downtown Moline is having its last runnings of its haunted house Sunday and Monday starting at 7 p.m.
