‘It Had To Be You’ Brings Laughs And Love To Black Box
Looking for something sweet as pumpkin pie on your theater plate this Thanksgiving week?
The Black Box Theatre is presenting the holiday romantic comedy “It Had to Be You” by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna. The play will star Black Box Theatre Co-founder Lora Adams opposite actor and cartoonist Jason Platt. The play is directed by Patti Flaherty and features Gregory Kerr, who also serves as the production stage manager. Set construction by Michael Kopriva and light design by David Miller.
The plot involves failed actress, health food nut, and would-be playwright Theda Blau, who wants to find love and success in New York. She meets Vito Pignoli, a successful TV commercial director. By holding him hostage in her apartment on a snowy Christmas Eve, she (somehow) manages to convince him to be her partner both on the page and off.
“If you’re looking for something fun to do with out-of-town family after Black Friday shopping we suggest you spend some time laughing at the Black Box Theatre,” said co-founder David Miller.
“It Had to Be You” runs from November 23rd through December 2nd. Tickets can be purchased online and more information can be found at www.theblackboxtheatre.com.
