Holidays @ the Library will be held Today At Western Illinois University
A variety of holiday events at Malpass Library will be held Thursday, Dec. 1.
A performance by the Western Illinois University Singers runs from noon-12:30 p.m. in the Garden Lounge, followed by the lighting of the Malpass Holiday Tree at 12:35 p.m. in the first floor atrium.
A performance by Combo 1, a WIU jazz ensemble under the direction of George Turner, will be held from 12:45-1:15 p.m., also in the first floor atrium.
“The basic idea of holidays is based on our civilizations,” said Dean of Libraries Hector Maymi-Sugranes. “Every civilization and culture creates its holidays to celebrate. We are celebrating as part of a diverse civilization with many cultures of what we call America. Holidays @ the Library intends to promote diversity and joy to our community members.”
