Have A “Holly Jolly Christmas” At Circa 21
For the first presentation in the theatre’s 40th season of live entertainment, Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse will be the area’s go-to destination for holiday music, laughs, and warmth in its production of “Holly Jolly Christmas.” Opening this weekend and running through December 29, this joyous and funny musical revue last thrilled audiences in 2009, and those at the Rock Island dinner theatre are excited to have it back in a brand-new staging filled with merriment, wonder, and surprises for the whole family.
“Holly Jolly Christmas” will be performed at Circa ’21 on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdays evenings at 7:45 p.m., Sundays at 5:45 p.m., and Wednesday matinées at 1:30 p.m. (Additional matinée and evening performances have also been added for Thursday, December 8.) Ticket prices are $51.73 for the evening dinner-and-show productions and $44.94 for the plated-lunch matinées, with reduced prices for groups of 12 or more also available for all performances.

A delightful musical-comedy treat, HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS is the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of the season. In this holiday-themed revue, you’ll join Santa, Mrs. Claus, and many of their friends as they deliver a theatrical present of Broadway-style dancing, stunning costumes, warmhearted humor, and traditional holiday tunes your whole family knows and loves. With its music direction by Circa ’21 veteran Tyson Danner, the show boasts more than 30 holiday favorites including “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Blue Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Silent Night,” and many, many more.
“Holly Jolly Christmas” is being directed and choreographed by longtime Circa ’21 favorite Ann Nieman, whose previous productions for the venue have included the holiday hits A Wonderful Life and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, in addition to Broadway smashes such as Annie, Grease, and Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her cast, meanwhile, is composed of 18 exceptional talents, many of whom will be familiar to frequent Circa ’21 patrons.
Among those returning to the Rock Island stage for “Holly” are Bonner Church (A Christmas Story), Erin Churchill (Miracle on 34th Street), James Fairchild (Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story), Daniel Fuentes (Sister Act), Marley Haley (A Wonderful Life), Beth Mooy (Les Miserables), Hailie Shemek (The Sound of Music), Tristan Tapscott (Million Dollar Quartet), Allison Willie (A Wonderful Life), and Jennifer Poarch (Shear Madness)
And joining these familiar talents are a group of fantastic musical-comedy performers new to Circa ’21: Julian Anderson, Carter Cupp, Jordon Hoffman, Kayli Jamison, Brenton Jeffrey, Audrey Leigh Johnston, Bridgette Karl, and Zach Snyder.
