Get ‘NSync With Boy Band Revue
Want to get together with your Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls and get your music tastes ‘NSync even though the temperature is far from 98 Degrees?
Then join all the New Kids on The Block and the Boys II Men at 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan 6 for Boy Band Review at Missipi Brew, 107 Iowa Ave., Muscatine. Singers Jan, Bender, Zach and Skinner, accompanied by musicians Sabrina, AJ and Zach will be playing your favorites from Backstreet Boys, ‘NSync, New Kids On The Block, Boys II Men, One Direction, Justin Timberlake and more.
“We were covering a variety of songs before and people loved boy band songs as much as we did,” Jan said. “So we went full boy band two years ago and have played everywhere from planet Hollywood in Vegas to New York, cruise ships and more.”
It’s not just the sound they echo, either, it’s the style.
“We dress to impress just like the classic boy bands did,” Jan said.
It’s been a pretty fun ride for the lads, as the bubblegum sounds are as sweet as ever and the people coming to see the show are psyched up to get a sugar high on nostalgia.
“It’s been only great things (being in the band),” Jan said. “People know every lyric and sometimes sing louder then the PA can handle. It’s an amazing experience. We love playing this music and paying tribute to one of the best genres ever.”
But given the fact that the very name “boy band” connotes a potentially limited time scale for this gig, what do the guys have in mind for an encore? Or will they continue to ride the wave as many other “boy bands” have into the horizon of adulthood? They’re not sure for now, but they’re having fun and just digging the good vibes of making audiences happy.
“We are enjoying the ride and looking forward to bringing the boy band review experience to more people in the future,” Jan said.
