GARP Bringing Guided By Voices, Rentals, More To Codfish Hollow

garpThe Codfish Hollow world according to GARP is one populated by an incredibly diverse and cool array of bands, and you’ll get to explore this brave new sonic location this weekend for the first GARP festival.

The debut GARP gig takes place beginning at 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and noon Sept. 10 at Codfish Hollow, 5013 288th Ave., Codfish Hollow, Maquoketa, Iowa.

It features five food vendors, two stages, 30 bands, free camping, free parking, hay rack rides, bonfires, art gallery, artists and art vendors, booze and more.

Two-day barn passes are $90, single-day barn passes are $50 and a grounds pass is $30 per day. The grounds pass gives you access to camping, the surroundings/hillside outside the barn (where you can hear perfectly and can still have direct sightlines into the barn) and to the valley stage on which 11 amazing acts will be playing over the weekend. With the grounds pass, the only thing you won’t be able to do is enter the barn, but the doors will be open and the sound will be great.
