Fly Your Broom In For Harry Potter Trivia NightDo you know your muggles from your quidditch? Can you hold your butter beer and your regular beer? Then you might want to ride your broom on in to Boonie’s, 214 Iowa Ave., for Harry Potter Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Friday.

Muggles and wizards alike are invited to play Harry Potter Trivia and learn about the second annual Harry Potter festival slated for Friday and Saturday, May 18-19, 2018.

General trivia night guidelines will be followed with a Harry Potter theme to the trivia. Teams of eight persons per table are welcome. The cost is $10 per person. Robes are encouraged, but optional. Trivia questions will be from the Harry Potter books and movies (attendees might want to brush up on some Fantastic Beasts trivia as well).  Tickets for the Trivia Night can be purchased online at www.springpotterfest.com/trivia , or in person from MCC students involved with the event.

In May, the Spring Potter Fest will be full of wizarding world activities, food, fun and experiences.  Plans being developed include a Great Hall Welcome Feast, Intercollegiate Quidditch Cup Tournament, Alley Shops of all things wizardly from wands to robes to butterbeer, Battle of the Bands with area high school bands performing Harry Potter themed music, Virtual Reality Tour of Hogwarts Castle, Live Wizards Chess, Community group partnership fundraising activities, Activities for kids of all ages, Pop-up skits adapt from the books performed by MCC students and community character actors, a Saturday night Downtown Pub Crawl and more.

The Iowa Literary Festival has been established as an Iowa not-for-profit corporation and beneficiary of The Spring Potter Festival 2018. The mission of the organization to promote the arts through literature-based themed festivals in Muscatine, Iowa, and its surrounding communities.
