Find Your Next Beach Read At The Iowa Authors’ Fair

One necessity for any beach trip is a good book, and readers can find one this weekend at the Iowa Authors’ Fair, taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Regional Learning and Cultural Center, 112 E. 3rd St., West Liberty , Iowa.

“We’re really excited about the event, we think people are really going to enjoy it,” said organizer Teresa LaBella. “You can greet, meet and buy your next best summer read from Iowa Authors Bob Bancks, Lyle Ernst, Teresa LaBella, Karen Nortman and Misty Urban.”
The authors will take time out from signing books for a round table discussion and Q&A on the writer’s journey from idea to publication at noon.

As for who the writers are:

Bob Bancks, from Blue Grass, Iowa , started writing as a hobby after retiring from farming.  “The Nightgown,” a romance set in rural Iowa , was Bob’s first novel.

Lyle Ernst is a freelance journalist and award-winning author from Davenport , Iowa . Lyle co-writes and collaborates with author Kimberly Sigafus.

Teresa LaBella, also from Davenport , has authored and published two romance novels “Reservations” and “Heartland,” and an e-book of small town Iowa romance short stories, “Tales from Heartland.”

Karen Musser Nortman from West Liberty turns camping mishaps into murder or other nefarious deeds in the Frannie Shoemaker Campground mysteries.

Misty Urban of Muscatine , Iowa , is a fiction writer and medieval scholar. Misty’s collection of short stories “A Lesson in Manners” was recently published by Snake Nation Press.
