Dawn and On Music Festival Announces Lineup, Move to Schwiebert Park
The Quad Cities’ grassroots music festival “Dawn and On” revealed their talent lineup, at the same time confirming a venue change to Rock Island’s Schwiebert Park for the July 6 event.
The day-long festival, now heading into its fifth year, had previously been held at Moline’s North Shore Inn in each of its first 4 years. Dawn and On has grown in attendance each year, exceeding 1500 attendees in 2018.
In light of the move to Schwiebert Park, the event format will stay the same, with live music running from noon-midnight, along with a full slate of local craft vendors, food vendors, full bar offerings and kid-friendly activities. Tickets will remain at $10 with children 12 and under free.
With its roots in jam music, the festival’s lineup features local and national performers and remains diverse with a mix of rock, funk, bluegrass and world bands featuring headliners The Dawn, Steady Flow, Jon Stickley Trio and Sun Beard.
According to festival co-director Mike Mathews, Dawn and On’s goal is to bring the experience and diversity of the multi-day music festival to the Quad Cities in one easily accessible location at an affordable ticket price.
“We try to offer the big festival experience with little hassle. It’s an easy drive or Uber ride from anywhere in the QC and you can get good night’s sleep in your own bed,” said Mathews. “It’s a model that has been embraced to this point and we’re very excited to bring it to the Rock Island Riverfront.”
Mathews went on to note that parking, flooding concerns and age restrictions were the main motivations in making the move to Schwiebert Park.
