Augustana Dance Company Leaps Onto Stage Saturday

On November 19th, 2016 at 7 p.m. Augustana College’s Dance Company will take the stage at Centennial Hall in their Fall Show titled “Dance with a Purpose.”

Each school year, Augustana’s D. Co, puts on two shows, one during Fall Term and the other during Spring Term, each with a central theme and different dance routines to entertain their audience.

Tickets can be purchased at a table in the Brew, which is located in the Gerber Center For Student Life, 3435 9 1/2 Ave, Rock Island or at the information Desk (309) 794-7742 for $3 from Nov. 16th through Nov. 18th, or tickets can be purchased at Centennial Hall at the ticket window on November 19th for $5 once the house opens.

Augustana’s D. Co. consists of 20 girls Freshman through Senior who audition at the beginning of the school year and practice rigorous hours throughout the terms to be the best they can be. The individual and ensemble dances are all choreographed by students and feature the styles of Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, and Hip Hop and are put to main stream songs such as: “Fight Song,” “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” “Hometown Girls,” and “Get It Right.”
