Amber Williams, Ana Garza Moore Take Top Honors at Bucktown
Quad-Cities artists Amber Williams and Ana Garza Moore took the top honors in the Revive 2 art exhibit taking place through August at Bucktown Arts Gallery, 225 East 2nd St., Davenport.
Williams won the Board Award, chosen by the members of the Bucktown arts board, where Moore took home the Viewers’ Choice Award, voted upon by attendees of the exhibit.
“I’m really happy and a little surprised,” said Williams, about the award, which netted her $100 in addition to a certificate of achievement. “Last year I got the people’s choice, which I was really excited about. It’s interesting to think about where I was last year compared to this year. But I think my work was better this year so it’s very rewarding to be recognized. I’m happy to be a part of the exhibit, there are a lot of great artworks.”
In its second year, the Revive 2 exhibit features a number of area creators who have breathed new life into old materials to assemble fresh artworks. Everything from old keys to rusty license plates to used envelopes and more has been cribbed to put together new and exciting artworks.
