4th Annual Hoops 4 Hope Happening This Week!

The East Moline community invites you to attend the 4th annual Hoops 4 Hope!

Hosted by United We Ball, Hoops 4 Hope will take place this Wednesday Jul 31 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Hereford Park (400 13th St. East Moline). This is a family-friendly, free event, and all are encouraged to attend!4th Annual Hoops 4 Hope Happening This Week!

A few years ago, Kannon Burrage contacted the East Moline Police Dept. in an attempt to create an event which united the diverse communities of East Moline. That connection birthed this event, and this year they will continue to honor his vision.

United We Ball believes that bringing people together through a celebration like Hoops 4 Hope is a great way to unite our different communities into one, but this year they want to take it to a new level!

The past few years Hoops 4 Hope has fundraised nearly $3,000 in total! This money was used to host the event and aid neighbors in need (mostly through youth giveaways). This year the fundraising goal will increase to $2,500! It takes roughly $1,500 to run the event, and the extra $1,000 will go towards improving Hereford Park! This park has a huge impact on the lives of many youths in East Moline (past and present), and with your help, this community can really change for the better!

In addition to a fun-filled day of basketball, Hoops 4 Hope will also be holding a Back 2 School Drive on Wednesday night. Please bring extra school supplies to help those in need.
