2nd Annual 0.5k Beer & Donut Run Ensures Everyone is a Winner!
The Rock Island Parks & Recreation Department along with Bent River Brewing Company, presents the 2nd Annual 80’s Themed: 0.5k Beer & Donut Run benefiting Youth Recreation in Rock Island!
The 0.5k Beer & Donut Run will take place on Saturday Oct 12 in Schwiebert Riverfront Park (1st Avenue Downtown Rock Island) from 3 – 5:30 p.m.
What is a 0.5 Beer Run?
Some of you may have heard of a 5k, 10k, or even the marathons, but what about the 0.5k? Training for this race is easier than the rest of them. This is for those who enjoy their Saturday’s with a little more laid back style! The race is perfect, just head out around the park ‘course’ and back; just try not to spill your beer, it’s bad for the grass. And finish that donut and donut hole! There will not be an official timekeeper for the race. This way you all can call your mom and let her know, ‘I am the WINNER!’ After you ‘race’ enjoy live music and relax on your lawn chair or blanket!
What does the $30 entry fee include?
Your entry fee reserves your spot on race day and qualifies you for participation in the 0.5k Beer & Donut Run and includes an event t-shirt, race number, a race medal (just to keep your mom happy, because everyone is a winner and her child is the BEST), event silicon race cup, and (oh, by the way) a pint of racing beer and a donut! We will also have a band playing some beer drinking fun tunes! (Must be registered by September 12th to guarantee t-shirt size, cup and medal.)
