A Comedy Show To Dye For Tonight At Renwick
The “Tomfoolery on Tremont” standup comedy series at Davenport’s Renwick Mansion will host Jeff Dye in two shows Sunday night, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Tables for two are $30 and tables of four are $55 for the 38-year-old Seattle native, who is a nationally touring comedian, actor, host, prankster and Bigfoot enthusiast.
Dye started doing comedy at Giggles Comedy Club right out of high school and was first nationally recognized on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” where he finished third after only three years into his comedy career.
Dye has hosted two series for MTV—Numbnuts and Money From Strangers and also appeared on Girl Code. He was a finalist on the sixth season of the NBC series Last Comic Standing, finishing third behind Marcus and winner Iliza Shlesinger, and then performed in a 50-city tour with the other top competitors.
Dye performed at the TBS Comedy Festival in Chicago and Comedy Central’s Live At Gotham before starring in his own half-hour comedy special titled Comedy Central Presents Jeff Dye in 2010. He was the host of MTV’s Club New Year’s Eve 2013 Live from Times Square.
He was also a recurring celebrity cast member on NBC‘s game show I Can Do That which aired during the summer of 2015. Dye was on the NBC 2016 reality show Better Late Than Never as the tour organizer and suitcase holder for William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Henry Winkler while they toured Asia.
Dye returned to Better Late Than Never in 2017-2018 alongside Shatner, Bradshaw, Foreman and Winkler as “The Sidekick,” while they toured Europe and Morocco.
Dye has been the host of Jeff Dye’s Friendship Podcast on the All Things Comedy network since March 2018. For more information, visit jeffdye.com.
Tickets for his Renwick shows (901 Tremont Ave., Davenport) are available at Eventbrite.com.

Discuss The ROOTS Of Social Struggle Online
Three sessions of facilitated discussions on the root causes of racism will begin Monday at 7 p.m., hosted online by Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities.
Our goal is to guide groups to intertwine faith and justice for sustainable long-term collective action and accountability. We will be meeting at 7 pm. Each session is 90 minutes long.
The first is focused on relationship building and identity exploration. We ask questions about the parts of our identity that are most salient to us, the experiences that inform how we think about the world and our relationship with privilege and oppression. The second is focused on understanding white supremacy culture and how pervasive it is. We discuss implicit bias and overt/covert characteristics of white supremacy culture that perpetuate racism and oppression.
The final session has a theme of “discipleship costs” and asks what are we willing to sacrifice to create a more just world? We discuss the difference between charity & justice.
Here is a pre-session survey for you to fill out: https://forms.gle/k6dHsMmjn9JsVpCcA
Check Out ‘New Beginnings’ Online
Mockingbird on Main, a planned theater/cabaret space taking shape at 320 Main St., Davenport, is debuting with an online cabaret!
“New Beginnings” – a tantalizing teaser online cabaret – is led by Quad-Cities actor Tristan Tapscott and his girlfriend, Savannah Bay Strandin.
“The Mockingbird is committed to supporting artists and providing a space for them to create,” its social media says. “We will produce projects as creators bring them to us.”
A frequent actor and director in the area, Tapscott co-founded his own company in 2008 — Harrison Hilltop Theatre at 1601 Harrison St., Davenport. In 2011, it moved to the former Green Room — at 1611 2nd Ave., Rock Island – becoming The District Theatre, before moving down the block in August 2014 to the tiny, long and narrow former Grape Life space at 1623 2nd Ave., and ending from 2015 to 2016 in the much larger space at the former Rock Island Argus, 1724 4th Ave., Rock Island.
