Cart Race, Labor Day Closings for Rock Island Public Libraries

The Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street, will be closed from 5:00 pm Friday, September 3 through Saturday, Sept. 4, due to the Rock Island Grand Prix cart races. The Rock Island Southwest Library, 9010 Ridgewood Road, will be open during normal business hours of Cart Race, Labor Day Closings for Rock Island Public Libraries9:00 am to noon on Saturday, September 4.

The Downtown Library book return will be inaccessible during the cart races. Books may be returned to the Southwest Library at 9010 Ridgewood Road or to any other Illinois Quad City public library.

All Rock Island Public Library locations and bookmobile routes will be closed Monday, Sept. 6 for the Labor Day holiday.  Library digital content, including eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, and magazines, as well as online research subscriptions, will be available at www.rockislandlibrary.org.

The  Downtown Library and Southwest Library will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the normal hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Tuesday stops for the Rock Island Library2Go bookmobile are as follows: Dollar Tree, 480 10th Avenue E, Milan, 10:00am – 11:30am; South Park Presbyterian Church, 1501 30th St, Rock Island, 2:30 to 3:30 pm; and Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 38th Street, Rock Island, 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Library2Go routes are listed on the library’s buildings and hours page at the library website.
