Busy Week For Quad-Cities As Businesses Begin To Open Up
There’s plenty of activity coming up over the next week in regard to spots opening up on both sides of the river in the Quad-Cities.
According to the Chamber of Commerce:
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on Tuesday announced the state will allow more businesses to reopen and mass gatherings over the next week, limiting capacity to 50%, maintaining six feet of separation between individuals and groups and adhering to hygiene and other public health measures in place.
The following businesses may reopen Thursday, May 28:
- Bars
- Wineries
- Breweries
- Distilleries
- Social and fraternal clubs
Guidelines for restaurants and bars have been updated with the following modifications:
- Groups of up to 10 people allowed (previously six)
- Live performances allowed

These businesses may reopen Monday, June 1:
- Outdoor performance venues
- Casinos
- Racetracks open to spectators
- Bingo halls, bowling alleys, pool halls, arcades and amusement parks
- Skating rinks and skate parks

Also starting June 1, gatherings of more than 10 people will be allowed:
- Social, community, recreational, leisure or sporting gatherings or events
- Practices, games and competitions for youth and adult, including baseball, softball and individual sports such as running, biking, swimming, tennis and golf

These regulations will be in place through June 17 unless otherwise modified. The proclamation extends regulatory relief to those affected by this public health emergency through June 25.
Illinois update
The State of Illinois developed a new business toolkit and safety guidelines to prepare businesses and employers for their anticipated Phase 3 reopening May 29. The new toolkit and guidelines pertain to the following 10 industries. Toolkits include signage, training checklists and other resources, and each set of guidelines includes common practices expected and encouraged as well as industry-specific guidelines.

- Retail
- Service counters
- Youth sports
- Health and fitness centers
- Personal care services
- Outdoor recreation
- Day camps
- Restaurants and bars (outdoor dining and drinking)
