Kim Reynolds

Reynolds’ new measures will be in effect through at least Feb. 6 and requires people to wear masks inside public places when unable to social distance. The rules are predominantly geared towards bars and restaurants, which have been shown to have a higher likelihood of spreading the virus.

However, Reynolds did somewhat ease restrictions surrounding sports and recreational events for youths and teens.

Starting today, Reynolds said, “A social, community, business or leisure gathering or event, including a wedding and funeral receptions, festivals, conventions, fundraisers and other nonessential gathers and events where people who do not ordinarily live or work together congregate, of more than 10 people may be held, but only if the gathering complies with all other relevant provision in this proclamation.”

In other words, she’s requiring people to still wear masks inside public spaces, and ensure 6 feet of social distancing between spectators. Also, everyone who is not an athlete must wear a mask or face covering.
