Black Box Theatre Finally Debuting ‘Turn Of The Screw’ July 16-19

The Black Box Theatre was in rehearsal for the Jeffrey Hatcher adaptation of The Turn of The Screw when Covid-19 shut everything down. As Illinois enters Phase 4 of re-opening the actors are once again rehearsing and looking forward to performing.

Black Box Theatre Finally Debuting 'Turn Of The Screw' July 16-19The theatre will open the show on July 16 and close the 19th. “It is a short run,” said director Lora Adams “but the set was almost completed and the actors’ schedules have changed since March, so we are only able to do the four day weekend.”

Actor Matt Walsh and Kayla Jo Pulliam bring the creepy tale to life with Walsh playing four different characters. Lighting design by David Miller, direction/costuming and set design by Lora Adams, and set construction by Michael Kopriva.

The theatre will be abiding by Phase 4 restrictions. Patrons will be required to wear a mask and only certain seats will be available in order to conform to social distancing guidelines. Temperatures will be taken before entry and the theatre will also have hand sanitizer available and be disinfecting every seat before each show. Advance purchase of tickets is highly recommended in order to avoid handling money. More information can be found at theblackboxtheatre.com

Tickets are $13 on Thursday and $16 for the remaining performances. Show times Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
