Big Brothers Big Sisters Trivia Contest Set for Jan. 27-30
MACOMB/Moline, IL – For more than 20 years, the Western Illinois University and Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of McDonough and Warren counties connection has been strong, with nearly 73 percent of “Bigs” in McDonough and Warren counties composed of WIU faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Because of that connection, members of the WIU community are invited to take part in the organization’s annual trivia contest fundraiser, which, like everything else these days, has gone virtual. The contest will be held over four days, and individuals and teams (up to 12 players) can participate in one or all days. Find more information, and to register, visit triviaputtputt.org. The cost to participate is $30/person.
The trivia events will be held from 3:30-5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27; 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28; 3:30-5 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29; and 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30. Professional emcee (and 2008 WIU English graduate) Ryan Budds of Trivia with Budds (https://www.triviawithbudds.com) will run the event, which will feature pop culture, sports, history, bonus questions about the sponsors (including WIU) and more.
“Western’s ongoing connection to BBBS makes a difference in the lives of our littles, and we appreciate the University’s continued support for our organization and the community,” said Sarah Baca, director of the BBBS-McDonough and Warren organization.
