Bettendorf Public Library to host Putnam Museum presentation on the history of quilting
The Bettendorf Public Library will host a virtual edition of their monthly Community Connections series on Thursday, March 24th at 7:00 PM. The live lecture titled, “Stitches Through Time – History of Quilting” will be presented by the Putnam Museum. The free event will be accessible through GoToMeeting. Advance registration is required in order to receive login information. Throughout history, many women focused their artistic talents on producing handicrafts and household goods. Quilts offered a blank slate for creative expression. The Putnam Museum’s presentation will allow viewers to dive into the history of the American quilt and see some of the amazing quilts in the Museum’s collection.
