Bettendorf Public Library event will look at the history of radio alongside WWII
The Bettendorf Public Library is offering a look at World War II history through radio with host Steve Darnall. The Community Connections presentation will virtually host the radio historian on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 PM. World War II was the first war in history to receive almost continuous coverage on radio. The presentation examines how radio rose to the challenge of life during wartime with sound clips from news broadcasts, presidential speeches, entertainment shows, and more. The virtual talk will take place via GoToMeeting. Admission is free but advance registration is required to receive an invitation and password to join the event. Registrations can be made by visiting http://events.bettendorflibrary.com/event/5588196 or by calling 563-344-4179.
