Augustana College to host “Birth of the Computer: The John Atanasoff Story”
Come learn about John Atanasoff, an assistant professor in mathematics and physics at Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa. Atanasoff traveled to Rock Island, Illinois where he conceptualized the first digital computer in 1937. This event is brought to you in collaboration with Rock Island Public Library and Augustana College. Join us at Davenport Public Library Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00pm | Wallenberg Hall, Denkmann Building, Augustana College as we retrace Dr. Atanasoff’s road trip to the destiny of that fateful, winter night.
