Rock With The RI Artists Market Sunday

Rock With The RI Artists Market SundayJoin a variety of local artists and makers this Sunday, September 10th  for the fourth monthly installment of the 2017 Rock Island Artists‘ Market. Over 20 vendors selling art, hand-crafted goods and more will be set up in the parking lot of Skeleton Key Art and Antiques at 520 18th Street, Rock Island. Live music will be provided by Roger Carlson & Friends.

The market takes place on the second Sunday of each month, June through October, from 12-4 pm. The Rock Island Artists’ Market was formed through a partnership of the Rock Island Arts Advisory Committee and Skeleton Key Art and Antiques.

The Rock Island Arts Advisory Committee held public meetings last year to discuss ideas for expanding the arts community in Rock Island. It was decided that an open air artists’ market aimed at connecting artists and patrons topped the list of possible ideas. The Rock Island Artists’ Market joined an existing farmers’ market at Skeleton Key Art and Antiques on Sunday afternoons.

Participating artists pay a yearly registration fee of $50.00 to show their work during the five events comprising this year’s drop-in style market. Registration is open to artists, local craftsmen, and growers. More information can be found on the Rock Island Artists’ Market Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RIArtistsMarket, or in person at Skeleton Key Art and Antiques during regular business hours.
