Living Proof Full Circle Project Turns Pain Into Art
Sometimes the best way to deal with a painful experience or journey, is to transform that pain into comfort. That is exactly what Living Proof Exhibit specializes in. Living Proof Exhibit provides the therapeutic benefits of the arts to those impacted by cancer. This includes patients, survivors, families and caregivers.
On Saturday April 8, anyone impacted by cancer can join Living Proof Exhibit at the Figge Art Museum (225 W 2nd Street Davenport) for Full Circle Project. This FREE class will allow individuals to cut up those unappealing hospital gowns, turn those gowns into pulp, change the pulp into paper, bind the paper into books, and write in books so they become cherished journals.
The event schedule for this one of kind class is as follows:
9:00-9:30 am – Lobby – check-in: Studio 4 – opening remarks/introductions
9:30 am-12:00 pm – Paper making with Dawn Wohlford-Metallo
12:00-12:30 pm – Board Room – Brown bag lunch
Participants provide their own lunch/beverages
12:30-2:00 pm Studio 4 – Bookmaking with Kat Anderson
