A Video You Deserve For The Voices In Your Head
Mondays can be rough.
And so, every Monday, we give you a music video.
A fun, funny music video. Something that’ll make you smile, make you laugh, make you reminisce, and make you realize that back in the day, music video creators were probably either insane or heavily intoxicated.
But were also incredibly entertaining.
We call this feature, The Video You Deserve, and you can find it every Monday on your site for fun, free entertainment and features, QuadCities.com.
Our latest video is one from a band that really was ahead of its time in terms of visual presence and musical style. Cheap Trick, Rockford’s finest, were an odd mix of the goofy twosome of Bun E. Carlos and Rick Nielsen, and the handsome twosome of Tom Petersson and Robin Zander. Their sound was a big, hooky mix of Beatlesque pop and arena rock. And for a while in the late ’70s and early ’80s, they ruled the charts, driven by their albums “Dream Police” and “Live at Budokan.” The band kept releasing great albums, but they didn’t get much traction on the charts in the early ’80s. However in the mid-’80s they had a career resurgence with the hit “The Flame.”
That’s not the song we’re featuring here. No, we’re going to feature a brilliant yet often forgotten track by the Trick, off the “Dream Police” album. One for the “Voices” in your head. And here’s your Video You Deserve…
