Mondays can be rough.
And so, every Monday, we give you a music video.
A fun, funny music video. Something that’ll make you smile, make you laugh, make you reminisce, and make you realize that back in the day, music video creators were probably either insane or heavily intoxicated.
But were also incredibly entertaining.

Our latest video is from the biggest British band of the ’90s, at least sales-wise (sorry Blur!)
Back in the Major decade, the two biggest bands in the UK were Blur and Oasis, who, in their own distinct ways, hearkened back to a type of Beatles and Kinks influenced music that was heavy on melody and hooks, low on grunge (in reaction to America’s fascination at the time), and heavy on British accents and anecdotes, telling lyrical stories that were distinctly of a Brit flavor.
The newspapers dubbed it Britpop, and it became huge over the ocean for a few years, before finally collapsing under its own weight, and the overly rapid success of bands like Menswear who were more hype that substance. After its demise came the rise of boy bands and electronica, so, you’re welcome for that.
But for a while, Britpop was all the rage, and the standard bearers were the artsier, quirkier Blur, and the more straightforward Beatlesque rock and obnoxious star posing of Oasis, who, for all their boorish behavior, still packed a whallop in terms of their musical output, at least for their first couple albums before massive mountains of cocaine took over.
And the song we’re featuring today is from that pre-cokey period. It’s one of their first singles, and it made an immediate splash, announcing them as a force to be reckoned with.
