Bix Block Parties Blasting Off Through Downtown Davenport During Annual Bix Weekend

Nearly 30 downtown Davenport businesses are ready to celebrate Bix weekend with their first-ever Bix Block Parties on Friday, July 23, and Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Supported by the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP), the new event is designed to celebrate the downtown neighborhood with multiple blocks of events hosted by adjacent business owners. The locally focused Bix Block Parties event replaces the traditional Street Fest.

The crowded start to the Bix 7 road race, which begins up Brady Street hill.

“This year, we want Quad Citizens to come downtown to explore and experience the area’s restaurants, bars and retailers in order to lift up small businesses who need our support by spending local,” said Jason Gilliland, Director of Events, DDP. “This isn’t just one party; it’s multiple blocks of events throughout downtown celebrating the people, places and local flavor that make us who we are.”

Five different Bix Block Parties will be located throughout east, central and west downtown Davenport spanning from the Rock Island Arsenal Bridge to the Centennial Bridge.
