Celebration on Second in Downtown Davenport
Downtown Davenport businesses have reason to celebrate so they are throwing a street party Friday, September 25, 4-9 PM. East Second Street between Perry and Iowa will be closed for a FREE party open to the public.
Theo & Co. is celebrating their first anniversary while Cookies & Dreams and The Drawing Room are celebrating their Grand Openings. Other businesses including The Half Nelson, Bootleg Hill Honey Meads, Front Street Brewery, Stompbox, Crafted QC, Barrel House, Salon Static, The Gentlemen’s Barber Shop & Shave Parlor, Major Art & Hobby, Backwater Crossfit and Chocolate Manor are joining in the festivities. Lopiez food truck, Cushman’s Food & Engine, as well as The Big Cheese food truck will be on hand with delicious eats. There will be live music by Tim Stop and Lewis Knudsen. Classic cars provided by Rob Wolfe of American Pickers will be on display.

Coming Home: Livestream Concert
Award-winning composer, pianist, and music professor William Campbell will livestream his heart-felt music straight from the semi-concert grand piano in his own home.
Coming Home: Livestream Concert will take place this Friday Sep 25 from 7 – 8 p.m. online.
This special “Coming Home” concert will feature music from his 2011 album, including his arrangement of the SAU alma mater Ambrosian Oaks (“Finlandia”), and newer pieces from his forthcoming album.

Movie Night at The Spotlight Theatre
Catch “Little Shop of Horrors” on the big screen this Friday Sep 25 at The Spotlight Theatre (1800 7th Avenue Moline). Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 7 p.m.

Rock the River
QC Rock Academy and Rock Island Parks and Recreation department have teamed up to bring the Quad Cities a night filled with music, along the river.
Rock the River “Six Feet Apart-y” will happen this Saturday Sep 26 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Schwiebert Riverfront Park (On the riverfront between 17th and 20th streets, Rock Island).
This socially-distanced night of music will feature 6 of QC Rock Academy’s student bands. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. There’s plenty of room to spread out!

Haunted House at Factory of Fear
Halloween is far from cancelled!
The Factory of Fear (5027 4th Avenue Moline) opens for the 2020 season this Friday Sep 25. For 25 years, the Factory of Fear has been the QC’s #1 rated, largest, and longest running indoor haunted attraction located in Moline, IL.
General admission tickets are $22 and can be purchased online at https://app.hauntpay.com/events/2020-season/event_times. Active Military members can receive $5 off their tickets at the door.
Here are the safety precautions for this year’s haunt, found on Factory of Fear’s website:
SAFETY: -While waiting in our queue line, 6’-8’ distances are marked to keep EXTRA spacing. -Additional hand sanitizing stations will be available for customer use. -If you are sick or have any symptoms of concern, please do not visit the Factory of Fear until your symptoms have been clear for 72 hours. -All staff will be wearing masks and we will require customers too as well, as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health -Temperatures of our entire staff and all customers will be taken prior to their entry of the property and any staff or customers with a temperature over 100 degrees will be sent home and advised to seek medical advice. -For added precaution, we will have our queue line lights and music but will drastically limit actors in this area. -We will have dedicated staff to regularly disinfect high touch surfaces such as hand rails, restrooms, etc. during the event. -High risk individuals may enter the property the first 15 minutes of opening time. -Please keep a minimum of 6’ from all other patrons that aren’t in your individual group and from Factory of Fear staff at all times including while walking through the attraction. -An 8 page Contingency and Safety Plan has been developed and will be used throughout the year.
TICKETS: -Tickets are now offered and encouraged to be purchased in timed ticketing time-slots to ensure safe physical distancing. -Once you arrive at the haunt, you’ll be greeted by our Ticketing Staff, who will guide you to the appropriate place, based on your time frame. Please do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes before your timeslot. -If you’re more than 10 minutes late for your time-slot, you’ll be added to the standby line. We’ll do what we can to get you in, however please keep in mind that the Factory of Fear may not be able to accommodate you when you arrive late. -All tickets should be pre-purchased in advance, online, to ensure contactless payment methods. Oktoberfest at the Freight House Farmers’ Market
Join the Freight House Farmers’ Market (421 W River Drive Davenport) for an Oktoberfest themed Farm to Table Dinner this Saturday Sep 26 from 2 – 6 p.m.

The Show Me Reptile & Exotics Show is a large reptile show that is open to the public. If you ever hear anyone talking about the “Show Me Show”, that’s them!
Originating in St. Louis, Missouri, The Show Me Reptile & Exotics show began as a small expo in a small space in October of 2015. The show has since expanded incredibly. There are now over 25 Show Me Shows a year. (Not including special events)
A Show Me Show is a unique experience for both reptile lovers and the reptile-curious. It is a place of friendship and community for everyone.
When you walk into a Show Me Show you can expect to see large crowds of people who admire and care for animals. The show provides everything you need to properly care for your reptiles. 2020 QC Fall Bridal Fair
Are you or someone you know planning a wedding in the near to far future? Then you cannot pass up the QC Fall Bridal Fair this weekend!
The annual QC Fall Bridal Fair is happening on Sunday Sep 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center (. Admission is only $5 per person, and tickets are only available at the door.
The QC Fall Bridal Fair allows Brides, Grooms and their families and friends to come together and meet with over 60 local and national vendors in the Bridal Industry. Florists, DJ’s, Reception Hall Venues, Party Busses and Dress and Tuxedo shops will all be in attendance to answer questions and offer assistance.

Virtual Quad Cities Marathon
Since the first race in 1998, The TBK Quad Cities Marathon has become a Midwest favorite. Touching four cities, this hometown favorite draws runners from all over the country for a weekend full of activities leading up to the big event on Sunday! This year, the TBK Quad Cities Marathon has gone VIRTUAL!
Runners have been completing Marathons, Half Marathons, 5ks, 1-miles and kids’ races since Sep 1. The final date to complete your distance is this Sunday Sep 27 (when the in-person activities WOULD HAVE taken place).
While the traditional race expo will not take place this year, there will be a pop-up parking lot expo at packet pick-up as well as a virtual expo including a speakers series, pacer intros, and more during the month of September. Dates to be announced.
