Mississippi Valley Blues Festival Moves Into Murphy Park
The highly anticipated Mississippi Valley Blues Festival returns this year, but in a new location!
Due to the record-breaking flood of 2019, Mississippi Valley Blues Society announced the relocation of the 34th Mississippi Valley Blues Festival to Murphy Park at The Bend in East Moline (900 Bend Boulevard East Moline).
This year’s Blues Festival will take place on Friday Jul 5 and Saturday Jul 6. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday and at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Advance tickets are $15 for Friday, $25 for Saturday or $35 for a 2-day pass. Tickets will also be available at the gates for $20 on Friday, $30 on Saturday and $45 for a 2-day pass. Children 14 and under are FREE! Purchase your tickets today at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mississippi-valley-blues-festival-tickets-58688098683.
The Blues Society is excited to be bringing the Festival to the Illinois side of the Mississippi River this year. The Mississippi Valley Blues Society is a non-profit organization, that works hard to fulfill their mission statement by providing Blues entertainment and blues education to both the Illinois and the Iowa Quad Cities and surrounding areas.
In 2014, the Mississippi Valley Blues Society was awarded the International Blues Foundation’s top award in the “Blues Festival” and “Keeping the Blues Alive!” categories for their 30th Anniversary Festival. The Mississippi Valley Blues Society’s endurance in overcoming the many years of relocating the festival due to flooding was stated as one of the main reasons for the award.
